WELCOME TO TEN MINAS MINISTRIES

Ten Minas is a non-profit organization dedicated to God's commands in 1 Peter 3:15 and 2 Corinthians 1:3-4. We are an independent ministry, not affiliated with any particular church or denomination. We receive 100% of our funding through the generosity of private donors. If you feel God calling you to help, please visit our donations page. Our President (who is the host of our podcast and author of the articles on this site) is an elder within the Presbyterian Church (USA), but Ten Minas Ministries, Inc. itself is not sponsored by or affiliated with the PC(USA).
Purposes

Ten Minas has two primary purposes: (1) To teach apologetics and discipleship lessons that address both Christians and skeptics alike; and (2) To help the people that God sends us by passing on the comfort that we ourselves have received from God. In other words, by sharing our blessings with those in need.

Speaking Engagements

If your church or organization is looking for someone to fill in for a sermon while your pastor is away, or if you have a special event and are looking for a speaker on apologetics or discipleship, Ten Minas can help. Our President, Ken Coughlan, is an ordained elder with the PCUSA, the author of the articles on this site (unless clearly indicated otherwise), and the host of the Ten Minas Ministries podcast. Ken appears at events free of charge. If God is calling you to make a donation to this Ministry at the time of your event, we would of course appreciate your support, but our appearance is by no means contingent upon any particular fee or donation. Please feel free to browse the resources available on this site and visit our speaking engagements page for more information.

The Katrina House Mission is part of the Ten Minas Disaster Relief Project.  Please click here if you have been the victim of a natural disaster and would like to apply for Ten Minas assistance or if you would like to donate to this worthy mission.

Podcasts/Study Resources

Ten Minas produces a regular podcast on various topics, including an ongoing series outlining the "Argument for Christianity" (similar to the articles on the site) as well as Biblical and discipleship lessons. Each podcast is in MP3 format and is approximately 15-20 minutes in length. They are available free for you to listen online or for download to listen to later on your computer or MP3 player.

We also have a downloadable Bible Study on the Christian doctrine of atonement and links to some excellent sermons.

Articles

If you are interested in apologetics, we have a variety of different articles on this site. First, you will find a series of articles that present a logical "Argument for Christianity" all the way from absolute atheism through belief in Christ Himself. All too often, people try to give this argument short shrift and do not give it the attention it deserves. A thorough, coherent and logical argument presenting the wide variety of evidence for Christianity cannot be adequately laid out in only two or three pages. So these articles are written like chapters in a book (and in total length they resemble a short book). So I encourage you to print the articles out or re-visit this site as often as you like in order to read the entire argument. Also, please read the introductory page to this argument so you will understand its proper role in any discussions with skeptics.

We have also included a few articles addressing some specific issues that skeptics often have about Christianity that did not fit well into the progression of the "Argument for Christianity". These include issues such as the so-called "Euthyphro dilemma" and the alleged inconsistency between the existence of a loving God and a world with suffering.

If discipleship is more your "cup of tea", there is a section of articles that are intended to encourage and advise believers in their discipleship for Christ. These articles address some specific issues from scripture and how they can relate to your life.

LATEST PODCAST:
Three new podcasts in the "Argument for Christianity" series are now available:
Lesson 10: The Kalam Cosmological Argument (Part 2)
Lesson 11: The Kalam Cosmological Argument (Part 3)

Lesson 12: The Kalam Cosmological Argument (Part 4)
Click on the name of a podcast above to go to the page for that particular lesson, and please visit our
Podcasts/Other Resources page to see what else we have to offer.

Ten Minas Ministries is looking for volunteers for the Ten Minas Talent Pool. Don't underestimate whatever talents you have. If you have a heart to help people in need, but don't know how God would use you, please sign up for the pool and let us do the "matchmaking"!

Please check out the Ten Minas blog for the latest ministry information as well as some theological and apologetic reflections and discussions. Just click here to see what we're talking about.
Service

Ten Minas is also always looking for opportunties to serve God through service to people in need. Our newest project, and the one that is dominating much of our time here at Ten Minas, is the "Ten Minas Disaster Relief Project", a mission to help people who have been victims of natural disasters.  Our current mission under this Project it to rebuild a home for a mother and her son whose home was badly damaged by Hurricane Katrina. Click on the "Disaster Relief Project" tab on the top left side of the page or on the "Katrina House" logo towards the top right of this page for more information on this ministry in general or on our current specific undertaking.

We are also very excited about the "Ten Minas Talent Pool", a volunteer program that matches people in need with other people who have the means to fill that need. Please check out the tab to the left of the page to see if you can help.

Finally, we have another tab (titled "Ten Minas Service") that describes some of the other service projects we like to get involved in, including the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life and Compassion International. We encourage you to take a look at those as well and offer your support if you feel God calling you to do so.

This site is always a work in progress and things will be added periodically. So I encourage you to bookmark this page and keep checking back.

We thank you for visiting our site today, and we hope you find what you are looking for. God bless.
