3 WITNESSES OF GOD'S GREAT SALVATION (HEBREWS 2:2-4)
The
Old Covenant came with rewards and punishments depending upon whether
the Jewish people chose to obey or disobey. The author of Hebrews
spent all of Chapter One establishing the superiority of the New
Covenant. If the New Covenant brings a "greater salvation" than the
Old, shouldn't the New come with an even greater punishment for those
who reject it? But there really is no reason to reject it. After all,
God has given us three "witnesses" to testify to the truth of this
great salvation: (1) Jesus Christ, (2) the apostles, and (3) God the
Father (in conjunction with the Holy Spirit). Learn how each of these
"witnesses" helps point us toward the Truth.
