Ten Minas President and Founder Ken Coughlan with his wife Mary Kay
ABOUT OUR PRESIDENT

Ken Coughlan is the founder and President of Ten Minas Ministries, Inc. He was born on August 5, 1972 in Springfield, Massachusetts, and today lives in Havre de Grace, Maryland (in English this translates to "Harbor of Grace", quite appropriate for the headquarters of a Christian Ministry).

Ken is an ordained elder in the Presbyterian Church (USA).  He serves on the Session of
Grove Presbyterian Church in Aberdeen, Maryland where he is also the moderator of the Christian Education team. Ken is an experienced public speaker.  He has taught Bible and apologetics lessons to both youth and adults, appeared as a guest preacher and has even instructed lawyers on behalf of the Maryland State Bar Association. In addition to heading up the day-to-day operations of Ten Minas Ministries, Ken hosts "Preparing Your Answer", Ten Minas' ongoing series of Biblical and apologetic podcasts.

Ken graduated in 1994 from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice and minors in Legal Studies and Philosophy. He earned his Juris Doctor (law degree) from the College of William and Mary Law School in 1998 and took some Masters level courses in Criminal Justice at Old Dominion University in 2002.  He is currently pursuing his Master of Arts Degree in Christian Philosophy and Apologetics with Trinity College of the Bible and Theological Seminary.

Ken is a practicing attorney in Baltimore, Maryland and an amateur actor.  In high school and college he acted in seven different theater productions and more recently has appeared in three short films for Tohubohu Productions
.

Ken spends his free time in the study of the Bible along with various works on theology, comparative religions (including atheism) and Christian apologetics (including philosophy, astronomy, cosmology, astrophysics and other fields). The authors who have influenced him the most have been Ravi Zacharias, Norman Geisler, William Lane Craig and C.S. Lewis.  He attends church regularly and tries to keep up on the latest thoughts in theology and apologetics.

Ken has been happily married since 1994 and has been a proud father since 2002 when God gave him a beautiful daughter. Ken was blessed by the Father again with a son on May 22, 2007. He is an avid fan of college football, rooting for his alma mater (the Delaware Blue Hens) as well as the Nebraska Cornhuskers. As for the NFL, he has been a fan of the Dallas Cowboys ever since he was in elementary school and decided he liked the stars on their helmets.  He also recently began rooting for the Baltimore Ravens when they drafted University of Delaware quarterback Joe Flacco in 2008.

Ken was raised in the Christian church, but as many people do he fell away somewhat during his college years. God re-ignited Ken's faith after he became a lawyer, initially by showing him the logical underpinnings of Christianity and eventually resulting in the heartfelt conviction of his own sin. He is the son of a distinguished Air Force officer, his father having been awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for his service in Vietnam.  The transitory nature of a military lifestyle meant that Ken attended several different churches throughout his life as he has moved all over the country, including stints in Grand Forks, ND, Papillion, NE, Norfolk, VA, Rome, NY, and Fairfax, VA. He started Ten Minas Ministries as a tool to spread God's word, bring people to Christ, and perform God's work in the world.
