THE CREATED ANGELS VS. THE TIMELESS KING (HEBREWS 1:7-9)
Wanting
to make sure the point is entirely clear, the author of Hebrews offers
verse after verse after verse from the Jewish scriptures to show that
the Messiah is God, and is therefore far superior to the angels. The
particular Old Testament passages we examine in this lesson emphasize
the fact that angels are created beings whereas Christ is eternal. God
made the angels. He did not make His own divine Word. Time is
irrelevant to God as He is the author if time itself. Because Jesus is
God, time also cannot constrain Him.
