SHARPER THAN A DOUBLE EDGED SWORD (HEBREWS 4:12-13)
God's Word is described in Hebrews as sharper than a double edged sword. It is no blunt instrument, but can cut us deeply and reveal all that is inside us. Even our deepest darkest secrets are not hidden from God and His Word convicts us. When we are confronted with what the Holy Spirit reveals about our true nature, it can hurt. But fortunately God not only does the wounding with His sword but He also provides the balm.
