JESUS, OUR KINSMAN REDEEMER - PART 2 (HEBREWS 2:12-13)
What is a "kinsman redeemer"? Listen in as we review some of the obligations that befell close relatives under the Old Testament, including God's plan for taking care of widows, punishing murders and preserving the promised land. But how do these duties apply to the Messiah? That answer lies in the book of "Ruth." Before this class ends, we will show how various people in "Ruth" depict fallen humanity, Jesus Christ and the Old Covenant law. In part 1 of this lesson we learned that being part of Christ's family can bring us reassurance. In this part we find out that our familial relationship also imposes some duties upon Christ which He gladly undertook on Calvary out of His deep love for all of us.
