POSTMODERNISM AND CONTEMPORARY CHRISTIANITY
We live in a society that lives by Sinatra's mantra, "I did it my way." Even people who are not outwardly hostile toward Christianity will tell you that it is just one path out of many to discover true spirituality. But Jesus did not say He was a way, a truth and a life. He is the way, the truth and the life.
We may believe that we are prepared to honor Peter's instruction to be prepared to give a reason for the hope that we have (1 Peter 3:15) because we can explain to non-believers why Christianity is true. But what would you say to someone who doesn't disagree with anything you say, but instead tells you, "I'm glad that's true for you; it's just not true for me"? Learning to handle the new trend in postmodern worldviews is the point of this program.
