DOES GOD EXIST? THE TELEOLOGICAL ARGUMENT: OUR PRIVILEGED PLANET
In the last podcast Ken Coughlan argued that the physical laws which govern our universe are too remarkably precise to be the result of anything other than an intelligent mind. This podcast takes us one step further. Even if we could somehow overcome the odds against such a universe existing, it is still mind-bogglingly improbable that life would come to exist in such a universe. Today we examine all the factors that have to come together even within a life-friendly universe in order for a life sustaining planet to come into being. The odds against all of those factors coincidentally coming together do not give naturalists any comfort. Whether it is the precise position of the Earth within our galaxy or our friendly neighboring planets protecting us from the hazards of space, the Earth truly is a privileged planet.
