We all agree that the Holy Spirit bestows spiritual gifts upon believers. But Christians from a Pentecostal tradition have a slightly different interpretation of this gift-giving than other Christian denominations. Specifically, they believe that the first gift the Spirit will always give is the gift of speaking in tongues. As such, you cannot know if you are really saved until you are speaking in tongues.
