Teaching Christians to Answer the World's Questions
TIPTOE THROUGH THE TULIP - Part 1 (HEBREWS 2:1)
In
order to understand the concept of "drifting away" we begin our
exploration of the anagram "TULIP" that is often used to describe
Calvinism (i.e., Total depravity, Unconditional election, Limited
atonement, Irresistable grace, Perseverance of the saints). In this
first lesson we briefly discuss why the author of Hebrews says we
should "pay more attention, therefore, to what we have heard," then
move on to answer a few questions that arose in the class about the
difference between the Roman Catholic and Reformed understandings of
confession and prayer to the saints in heaven. This podcast closes by
introducing the five points of Calvinism and what each part of the
anagram stands for.
