Teaching Christians to Answer the World's Questions

WHO IS IN CONTROL?  PART 1 (HEBREWS 2:5-9)

At the close of the last class we spoke about the stewardship that God gave to humanity over His creation.  We are permitted to use it, but never abuse it.  We must always bear in mind that we are using someone else's property and should therefore treat it with care and respect.  But now we ask the question of what precisely was included in that stewardship.  The author of Hebrews says nothing was left that was not under it.  Does this literally mean that mankind has charge of everything?  We also discuss some other profound truths in this lesson, such as: Who is really a "slave", the Christian who "cannot" do anything God does not permit, or the unsaved sinner who believes he or she is free to do anything they wish?  Why does God consider thoughts to be sinful?  What is the danger of fantasizing about adultery or other sins?  Finally, there is plenty of evidence that humans have a common moral compass that crosses cultural barriers?  Where does this come from?  Has our sense of morality evolved along the same lines or does the commonality tend to indicate a common moral source?
